Everything you need to know
Sailing instruction is divided into two parts:
Online theory training is completed through NauticEd
Practical, on-the-water training is conducted in person aboard the Beneteau 393
Students are expected to complete the required NauticEd online coursework before beginning practical sailing instruction.
NauticEd provides internationally recognized sailing education, online theory courses, and certifications. Nautical Adventure Sailing School operates under the NauticEd framework, ensuring training standards align with professional sailing and assessment guidelines.
NauticEd manages online coursework and certifications, while practical instruction and assessments are conducted in person during on-the-water training.
There is no single way to learn sailing. Some sailors thrive in structured programs, while others benefit from personalized instruction. Nautical Adventure Sailing School supports informed learning by aligning practical training with NauticEd’s competency-based education model—focused on real skills, not shortcuts.
Sailing competence requires a comprehensive mix of knowledge, skills and experience. Once achieved, competence means a sailor will keep the crew safe, have more fun and fulfillment, and be empowered with the confidence to sail beyond visible horizons and personal boundaries.
NauticEd helps students chart their own course by merging the latest technology, learning techniques, and on-the-water training into one globally accepted program.
As students move from online theory to practical training, readiness for on-the-water assessment is critical. Assessments are designed to confirm competence—not memorization—and ensure sailors can safely apply what they’ve learned.
Safety begins before leaving the dock. Each training day includes a pre-sail risk assessment to evaluate conditions, crew readiness, and vessel safety.
